CA Trial - The Woman Who Delayed Jury Selection

The woman who yesterday threw a wrench in the jury selection process is someone most of us have seen before. She was one of the protesters outside the Anthony home back in September 2008. Remember the older lady George pushed off the property? She's the one who filed charges against him as a result.

Read the Report from WSTP and watch the video from WFTV: Juror Messer-Upper Protesting At Anthony Home.

She claims in the article that she spoke to only two or three people. Watch the WFTV video above all the way through and see if you believe that. Regardless what one thinks of the Anthonys, it's massively rude and cruel to do what this woman did to them, especially the way she kept harassing Cindy. She is definitely a talker, and my guess is that she engaged anyone who would listen to her yesterday, bragging about her previous involvement in the case.

I'd bet my bottom dollar that the "only two or three people" she talked to at the courthouse is akin to the DWI driver who has had only "a couple" of beers.

To top it all off, she tells WSTP that she wishes she could have been picked for Anthony's jury because she believes her to be guilty. Clearly, this woman should never sit on any panel -- not because she thinks Anthony is guilty, but because she thinks it's a good idea for jurors to think a defendant guilty going into a trial.

Keep in mind, she was a potential witness to be called at trial. All the more reason she should have never talked about this case to anyone, at any time, much less to jurors. Once again, this woman interjected herself into the case and, as a result, has cost many, many people a lot of time, expense and inconvenience, as well as tainting 50 potential jurors and delaying the start of the trial. All because she just couldn't keep it to herself.

Thank God someone let this be known so that the judge could question the panel. He did exactly the right thing in letting them go. No sense in giving the defense an appellate issue. I am worried, however, that this incident may give rise to renewed complaints from the defense that Anthony cannot get a fair trial, even when removed from her home county (especially after reading this letter from one of the dismissed jurors).
