CA Trial - Day 3 - New Jury Panel

After the witness/juror fiasco yesterday, when an entire panel of 50 potential jurors was released due to a potential witness talking about the case to some of them, Judge Perry is back on the bench to try again.

As I feared, Baez is now addressing the court, saying he believes there were too many potential jurors who had talked about the case for it to have been related to the lone witness/juror speaking out of turn. Who couldn't see this coming after yesterday? The defense would be remiss not to renew their complaints that too many in the jury pool have been tainted by media coverage.

The judge says that he will question the jurors individually after the initial address to the group. Brief recess til panel is brought into the courtroom.

Judge Perry is making introductions to the jury, making the routine comments. Anthony has bangs today. Wonder if she cut them to hide her face. Her head is lowered and she's crying again today as the various counts of the indictment are read by the judge.

The judge gives a bit of history lesson about this country breaking away from the oppression of the British monarchy and notes that men and women have put their lives on the line and died to protect the Constitution. Wants jury to keep this in mind when considering serving; wants them to be mindful of the difference between inconvenience and hardship.
